Default Using proxies?

Is it possible to use Jdownloader or the new beta version with just a single proxie? If so how do you set it up? Or is there a better way to hide my IP address when downloading?

TIA for any assistance.

Yes.... I know it seems so obvious. However, I still must be doing something wrong. I go to Internet and connections, check the "use proxies" box, enter the IP address for the proxy and the port and then restart. After restart, I check to see if the proxy IP and port is still there. I then copy a Rapidgator link and give it a try. Link grabber cannot check status and I cannot force a download.

I have tried several different proxies and even used the same proxy in FireFox to verify that it works.

Any suggestions?

The Stable might has some problems with proxies.
You can try the JDownloader 2 BETA (see my signature down below) and see if it works there.
Note that it's still a BETA version and it contains many bugs.
