Default sugestion for google books

hello
I'm a Spanish user sorry for my spelling

I use the search tool about google books and find one thread where the JD team explains than new JDownloader version updates the google books plugin.

I don't know if mi suggestions are in progress bat i give mi ideas:

1-Actually download the pictures in jpg format but in a lot of programs for example photoshop give error of encode (the error says not is possible open jpeg in arithmetic encode)and when tray convert the pictures to FDF with adobe acrobat only converts the cover and uncover pictures, all pictures of the book contains text not convert, I suppose it will be cause to encode (this is a possible bug but explains here for no open 2 threads)

2-This is a suggestion, my idea is integrate in google books plugin the option of convert to PDF.

I hope understand my precarious English ajajaj if not understand ask me ^^

congratulations for this excellent program and good bye

1.Maybe the pictures are corrupted but usually you can't even download them and also jd got no influence on the quality or the health of these pics.

2.This is verryy specefied.
If we had a dev who likes Google Books very much he would do it but right now i say "declined" because jd is a downloadmanager and this is no function of a downloadmanager, sorry

...btw. your English is great, i worry more about mine...

Default Way to solve it

I had the same problem, as Photoshop tells me that it does not support arithmetic jpg encoding or something like that.
So, I opened it the Microsoft Office picture manager (that can open it) and exported the files as tiff. With these tiffs you can then create the PDF.
The problem that I am currently having is that Google Books just allow me to download a small number of pages every day. So I spent almsot 2 weeks to download my first full book.
Hoe this works for you as well.

Yeah google possibly rotated the pages that are public so sometimes you need a long time till you got a full book.

Default Availability of google books pages

Are you sure? The same pages seem to be all the time available (about 80% of the book), just that when I arrive to certain number of pages, a counter appears downcounting from 20 minutes. When the 20 minutes are reached the counter restarts from 20 again.
JD always gives me the message that all pages are online all the time.
But even when I have a dinamic connection, changing the IP does not help me. I have to wait one day or two for new pages.
But it makes perfect sense your explanation..... have you tested it? Thank you for the answer.

It seems to be exactly what you said ..... instead of stopping once the countdown starts, I disabled the images that make the counter to start and could continue downloading the rest of the images. Yes, Google Books rotates the available pages. So, is there a way to configure JD so when it finds a "bad" image skip it instead of stopping the all process waiting for the countdown?

@javidelrey
With the upcomming update such pages should get the status "temporary unavailable" which also skips them and makes them available for download after an of us specified time (30-60 minutes).
This should do the job pretty well

Cool

Are these the pages that are OCRed by jD's customers via hotfile's reCaptchas?
