expand/collapse all nodes
Is there a shortcut (or menu) to expand/collapse all nodes in the selection (e.g. in the Download view)?
I'd like this because when packages are collapsed, you can't see the actual state of the link within that package (e.g. the package seems to have no error, but when you expand it, the link has status "Download limit reached") |

You can either press Ctrl + Click on the +, then all packages below will expand or you can mark packages and do the same, then only the marked ones will expand.

The above is almost true
1. If all packages are collapsed, then indeed clicking on any "+" expands all packages EXCEPT the one that was clicked. And the clicked package (but not the links it contains) is removed from the selection. 2. If all packages are expanded, then clicking on any "-" collapses all packages EXCEPT the one clicked, and again removes the clicked package (but not its links) from the selection. 3. When you have a selection of several packages, some expanded (have a "-" icon to the left of their names) and some collapsed (have a "+" icon), it's unclear what clicking on any of the "+" or "-" icons does. I tried several examples but I cannot find a general rule. The fact that the clicked package is removed from the selection means that if you try to "undo" the effect of the click (by clicking the same icon again) you get a disconcerting effect. I think some more sensible rules would be in order. Also, two right-click menus (expand all / collapse all) would be more "discoverable" (for the user) than an undocumented shortcut. I would put this into the bugtracker as well (unless I misunderstood something). Last edited by danutz; 07.08.2013 at 21:41. |
