Just delete Core.jar and the folders tmp and...

Just delete Core.jar and the folders tmp and update and start JDownloader again.
It will then update/fix itself.
Restore the backup of cfg folder to restore all settings/lists/accounts

Sounds like Firewall/AV or some malware. Deleting a backup and files that you have created manually is something that happens outside of JDownloader.
My guess is that Firewall/AV detect *something*...

A crash of JDownloader doesn't delete settings. JDownloader uses copy-on-write mechanism = write to new file first, then replace the old one with new one.
Are all settings lost? Also the link...
