JDownloader supports Java1.6 up to Java14

You can make the launcher use your system Java by renaming the folder
c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\local\jdownloader 2.0\jre
Please know that the launcher doesn't support >=Java11. In that case you've got to start JDownloader.jar directly instead of the Launcher(exe)
