not sure, assuming the account is active, and use accounts to download is checked/enabled it at least try the multihoster account.
When JD fails to get content it wants via multihoster it will then try alternative method which in your case is free mode. If you rather not have free mode enabled, you can create account usage rules (within gui) and disable free mode for given hosts. Since your headless? you will need to do this on GUI version and place config on headless version (close JD prior to doing this).
