I've done some research on this:
- Such books can be downloaded as "URLLink.acsm" file which can then be opened with the software "Adobe digital Editions" which allows the download of a DRM protected PDF file
- The single book pages are not really protected but the book borrowing only counts per active session and here it was terminated early (seemed randomly) so even when I had borrowed a book I was never able to view all pages
