Thanks Jiaz, I set the password protected value to false in the gui json file you mentioned and it worked.
Any ideas about the bubble notification for updates issue, why it's not respecting the option set? Or did I miss something and not understand if you gave the solution already?
I've also been wondering about how to reproduce it. So far there seems to be no set way. The first time I enabled the password, it had been updating and launching fine for quite some time. This time it happened with the 4th update or something (the one closest to when I started this thread).
Within the folder, when attempting to launch with the password enabled, the LOCK file appears then is immediately destroyed as the program terminates. I suspect it's to do with just normal semaphore-esque behaviour but thought I'd say it anyway in case it helps figure it out.
It might be difficult to do a TV session due to my extreme timezone but let me know your plan and maybe I can attempt it myself as well.
