Regarding your question:
Nitroflare is just another filehost and they are using https which is pretty much standfard by nowdays.
Apart from your ISP issue I personally do not see any reason for the need of a VPN when using Nitroflare.

Does the VPN Captcha work in JDownloader?
We've implemented it but were unable to test it ...
