Wow, enabling the tray icon did actually work. I now can close the window and it doesn't get minimized but acts like a normal mac application. Unfortunately, the cmd-w (close window) shortcut doesn't work yet. Cmd-q does work though (quit app).

Would be nice if this would get fixed as well.
