I think I got surrounding tag right now
I tried putting in dummy text
did not get any dummy text
went back to the default and added dummy text
that worked
added *CHANNEL* to the default line and dummy text was gone or not working
so looks like for me *CHANNEL* is a bad wildcard or something
better start on that log file
