'wait for jd2 core update' thread tag means you need to wait for next core update, as in there hasn't been one yet!, but the work has been completed.... So when the next core update comes out you will be notified by flashing icon on the toolbar. Updater will ask to restart, do so and then test.

If your idea is related or crossed over to any existing and pending svn tickets, progress of established tickets gets processed as developer wants to take on the work and not because you want feature added right here right now type of thing.
