Just to add my experience, it seems that replacing the
/shorts/ with
/watch?v= does the trick
For example, this link won't be parsed:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
But this one will be parsed:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
