Thats wise. I think your XP system has become unstable. You should find out why and solve this first. jD never crashes; only the JRE can crash. The cause of the JRE crashes can be an unstable OS or an unstable non-java application.

When the problem with your OS crashes is solved, detailed logs might explain the reasons of your crashes. Start jD with the following commands in a command window and it will produce logs :-

cd %your jd directory%
java.exe -verbose -jar -Xmx512m JDownloader.jar -debug 2>errlog.txt >log.txt

Archive (zip, rar, etc.) the log files that you'll find in your jD directory and attach the archive to your post.
