Default Delay in expanding and closing a folder

Hi,

since the new update there is a massive delay in expanding (opening) folders in JD2 Beta.

When you click on the "plus" it takes about 2 seconds before something happens. The same with closing the folder.

It's annoying....

Greetings

Do you have (slow) (external) HDDs and/or Network drives?

No and no.

Yesterday and today in the morning (Germany) all was fine. After a update (i had to restart JD2 Beta,so not only Plugin Updates) the problem appeared.

Have the same problem since today.
Also jD gives me a "File not found" error on some links that are clearly there.

I am having the same problems since updating this morning (USA) (01-20-2014). There is at least a 2 second delay when opening/closing a folder(package). The same thing happens when moving links up/down inside a folder. The delay is happening in the Downloads tab, there is no delay in the LinkGrabber tab.

Same here. The delay is longer than 2 seconds for me, but I guess that it depends on the huge download list. On the other hand, my hardware was pretty much top-of-the-line one year ago, so I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my machine's available resources. AS mentioned, the problem only goes with the download tab, linkgrabber is still perfect, and for me it started yesterday (GMT+1).

An update was available this morning, USA 01-21-2014

After the restart the delay is still there but seems shorter than yesterday for me. There is still no problem at all with the Linkgrabber tab, actions there occur instantly.

How big are your Download lists? Maybe this is the problem. I have report from one of the users which is known for having huge download list...

Hi, since one of the last updates I have the same problem. The download list is really slow to open or close a folder or to manually reorder the list and I have no more than 70 files in list. If I try to get more files (doesn't matter if only 1 or 4000) as long as they stay in LinkGrabber they are fast but as soon as I add them to the Download List (I repeat it's the same if it's only one file) it needs at least 3 seconds to open-close a folder or to rearrange the folder list or to rearrange the file order inside a folder. (Before this problem I had more than 6000 files in list but it was always fast, now even with one is almost unusable).

I tried to reinstall and reimport but the problem is still there.

When i erase all my downloads in JD and grap a few new ones the problem is gone.

So it has something to do with a big downloadlist. I never had a problem before!
With a new update you changed something that causes the problem....

@dr.dr.b.
See post #12

Or we can create a ticket for developers, but probably such a big list would be necessary for them to replicate.

There were some changes made by jiaz yesterday to the PackageController, so please test if they have influence on package expanding/collapsing in Downloads.
So update JD2 and please report it back.
