Hello,

Noticed this bizarre bug recently where the initial video size is incorrect for MKV formats. Only affects a small number of videos.

Steps to replicate
1) Change youtube settings, set type to video only and in file type deselect MP4.
2) Paste this in link grabber: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
3) A 720p 30fps MKV video comes back with size of 96MB.
4) Right click and check online status.
5) Size changes to 67MB.

If you download without steps 4 and 5, the size changes to 67MB automatically. My issue is that I have a scripts that use getBytesTotal() and that is giving me incorrect results.

Thanks

Default Downloadlinks NUR 500 obwohl Playlist über 4000 Videos hat

Hallo,

Default New Youtube movie algorithm?

This **External links are only visible to Support Staff**"Youtube Movies" offering is "free with ads", plays just fine in the browser (with adblocking tools), and has a normal-looking URL.

However, JDownloader2's linkgrabber does not display the video or audio file. (Of note, the browser extension Video DownloadHelper 7.3.9 identifies the video file, but is also unable to download it.)

Addendum: The video is "unavailable in some countries" (I checked in a different browser with a spoofed origin for Germany; I am in the US.)

@Honeyko
The video you want to download is DRM protected.
Downloading DRM protected content is not supported - sorry!

Facebook supports DRM too, you could be running into that (JDownloader does not support DRM). Is it a music video or a live performance or something like that?

Any reason why you've posted this twice in our forum?
Why do you think your problem is related to YT??
Please continue in the separate thread you've created:

I've never seen DRM on FB videos though it is for sure possible!

I previously asked for why if I tried to download over 100 videos from say YouTube, I could only get 100.
My question was moved to this thread.
Can I ask if this will ever be possible and is there any time frame for that ?
Many thanks.
Mike.

Not a DEV or MOD at all here, but I can tell you I, and many others, have posted about this issue for a bit now. It's a known issue. I know I just tried to get over 100 vids last night and no luck. So you're not alone.

What I'll also offer up though is there's only a small team for JD and they are working on the issue. Some issues have been fixed overnight, some have taken time. Kinda the way of it. But they will fix it. Just gotta either keep trying or keep eyes on this thread for a FIXED posting.

As small as that was, I hope it offers some small amount of comfort to help with patience, as we're being patient as well with you

Thank you enjikari and others.
I was aware it's a small team after reading as much as possible.
I thought I ask if there was anything on its way.
I will keep an eye on this forum as you say.
Once again, Many thanks and I am grateful for the software and replies.
Mike.

I have, I tried to download the I Want you to Stream live stream from Scooter's Facebook page and it only downloads a few seconds of a low resolution video, just like YouTube DRM. They're obviously scrambled into chunks at the very least. I tried other online downloaders and some of them didn't even recognize the link.

And hey, I'm planning to become a programmer, so maybe in a few years I can join the team and help out. I rely so heavily on Jdownloader that I want to give back.

These are two totally different topics.
Also JD is not designed to be able to download Livestreams.
You should use the commandline tool "FFmpeg" für this.
Also without having any example URLs I won't be able to help you at all.

Yeah that's normal these days.
You can also try this method.

If I try and download from a URL with more than 100 video files, it only lists the first 100 video files.

Many thanks.

Mike.
+1 could confirm the issue in current jd2 version: 43951, 12.03.2021

Links to Channel Video List (100 out of 272 links in Linksammler) and Playlist (only 59 out of 152 in Linksammler). No youtube account used.
Sample for Channel List and Playlist:

Playlist: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

Hi mav,
this is a known issue.
Please read the last 1-2 pages of this thread or simply wait until it gets fixed.

For clarification, this was a VOD, and considering how VODs of YouTube livestreams are very much downloadable, it isn't unreasonable to expect FB to be as well. They do seem to be doing some extra scrambling somehow. To be honest, it never occured to me that people would assume I was talking about downloading a livestream live, I erroneously assumed it was a given that I was talking about the VOD since I don't know of ANY downloader that can capture a stream from any service in a truly live manner.

FFmpeg can.

Sorry for the misunderstanding I guess we just ment different things.
...so yes, if you mean recorded livestreams that should be possible.
To check it I need example URLs.

To me, a livestream == live
Recorded livestream == Video like any other
