Every update causes jDownloader to shutdown on start
Hi everyone,
I am running JD2 on a Linux based NAS (Zyxel NSA 325v2). JD2 is being run as root. I rarely have any issues with this setup. But the last three times JD2 asked me to perform an update, I initialized the update and JD2 then never completes the update. I then have to revert to an old backup, restart JD2 and then it properly performs all updates. It seems as if updating once (with JD2 then working) leaves something behind that might then hinder the next update from properly completing. But that's just speculation on my part. Can anybody see the issue or know a fix before I restore last year's backup? Cheers P.S.: I have tried deleting logs, update and tmp. Does not help. |

I would advise that you do not run JD as root.
org.appwork.storage.StorageException: Can not write to /e-data/md3/jd2/cfg/org.jdownloader.updatev2.UpdateSettings.json Caused by: java.io.IOException: No such file or directory advise that you chown jd install path and then run JD under the same user (not root).

But why is that file suddenly missing?
I have been running it as root since the beginning. So root should not be causing the issue. |

not sure?
are all the files owned by the same user at this time? maybe you have mixed ownerships are you logged into as root user ? or sudo ? update for memory restarts could be its trying to restart without access to root if its the latter.

@raztoki: that's not the case. root process/JDownloader will run all processes as same user/root again. there is no change in user here.

Somethings fishy with the mount/filesystem/drive or you have sort of startscript/systemd that's not working correctly
FileNotFoundException: /e-data/md3/jd2/jd/plugins/... (Invalid argument) Caused by: java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid LOC header (bad signature) org.appwork.storage.StorageException: Can not write to /e-data/md3/jd2/cfg/org.jdownloader.updatev2.UpdateSettings.json Caused by: java.io.IOException: No such file or director How to you start JDownloader?
