Default Prioritizing within packages

Hi, when I go to download many many packages one file at a time, even with the setting of the rules for Packagizer for downloading video first, then image, then description, then subtitles, it'll then download only the videos files of every package first, then move on to the images for all packages, and so on and so forth. How do I make it so that it downloads a whole package first with video, then image, or whatever I'm wanting, so that each whole package is downloaded together ?

Aaron

Can you share a screenshot or the rules and example links?
Packagizer only works on links, that means you can only customize the priority of links and not packages. So you have to create a rule to set priority X to videos, then Y to images, Z to descriptions and then JDownloader will use that priority to determine the next download in list

Here's some images.

Or is there a way to grab them in a certain order in the LinkGrabber so that when you download them it'll just go according to the added date/time ?

Can you please also enable the priority column? and maybe export your packagizer rules so I can import them?
Within the rules you then assign different priorities, right? Hope you don't mix the priorities of the rule with priority you can assign within the rule

What do you mean enable the priority column? That column just moves the priority of each rule up or down, and it's already in the correct ordering.

Yes, I can assign priorities in each rule, but it's only JDownloader-wide, not package-wide.

It's not letting me upload the .packagizer file. Only those listed in the attachment key are allowed.

I think it is simple case of missunderstanding
The priority column in Packagizer is about the priority of the rules. JDownloader processes them from top to bottom. That's why the order is import. All rules are processed.

So you have to create a packagizer rule, for example 'is audio' and then 'then set' priority to XY

That way the matching link will have priority xy and JDownloader will use the priority of the link to determine what to load next.

Please know that the packagizer rules are only processed when you add links. Existing links are not touched.

I suggest to add 4 rules (is audio, isvideo....) and assign different priorities. then add videos and check if works as intended.

Works fine here. Can you please provide a screenshot of the linkcollector/download list with visible priority column?

@MuzicSoulWorldly,

'Priority' cannot be used to determine/set the download order 'within packages'. It can be used to determine the order in which the file(s) are downloaded in the entire list, irrespective of which package they are placed in.

To download 'whole packages' in the order they appear in the list, disable the priorities which have been set by file type.

@mgpai: thanks for notifying me about the small but import difference. I thought he wants to give different priority according to file type

No Jiaz, I was very descriptive about wanting to download each whole package together and having each file within the package download according to the type order I was wanting, before moving on on to the next package.

I'm sorry but that wasn't clear to me. At the moment it is not possible to do this because only links are part of *next download candidate selection* process.

What about is there a way to grab files in order by type when initially grabbed by the LinkGrabber ?

JDownloader searches list
1.) top to bottom
2.) highest priority to lowest priority
3.) then it searches for possible mirrors and uses best available mirror (not important in your case)

So lets say you move all images to top, then all videos..then JDownloader will first load all images, then continue to videos and so on. You can sort/order the list to your needs
