Noob question, but what exactly is a container.
Hello, and thanks for your time. I just started using JD today, and would lilke to know what exactly a container is. Thanks again, Techdunce:)

A container is basically a file which contains links (like a txt file).
A container tries to protect the links so they're crypted in there. Existing containerformats are ".dlc" (jdownloader format), ".rsdf" (RSD format) and ".ccf" (cryptload format). GreeZ pspzockerscene

Thanks for that Pspzockerscene, and for the quick reply. So, would I be right in assuming that jdownloader can decrypt these files without a password, or am I way off the mark, thanks again, Tecudunce:)

JD (internally) decrypts these LINKS, that are links, NO FILES so if you download the links of a container (then you got the FILES) but you don't know the password to unpack the FILES you got a problem^^ GreeZ psp

Hey techdunce,
Containers don't need a password for decryption (at least no password entered by the user). Your container can contain Archives (Like .ZIP or .RAR Archives) which are crypted with another password. This one must be provided by you. /Edit: Too late, thanks psp |
