Default Can JD bypass country-wide bans?

Sites like turbobit and ul.to are banning us silly Americans so only people from other countries can pirate OUR content. Can a proxy be implemented into JD somehow or is it impossible?

Ruskies still have aversion to USA

Use a proxy or use VPN (preferred method). These are IP based blocks so those are the only methods to get around them. It is no different to country based firewalls/content filtering.

I've been using Jdownloader for a while now but I have no clue how to use it through a VPN. I currently don't have VPN service but I'm thinking of getting it. I tried a search here but I can't find any step by step info on how to use JD with a VPN/Proxy. Is there a link that provides this info or am I blind?

Thanks in advance.

there is no setup needed. install your vpn and connect to it, then all your network traffic should be routed through the vpn.

Are there any free proxies that work properly with Jdownloader? Every one I've found so far seems to work fine if I want to browse, but flubs things when it comes to downloading from sites like turbobit.

Who is paying the free proxies?
Yep, people who want others to use them for browsing but not downloading.
If you want to have a good proxy you have to buy it (in most cases);)

"in most cases" huh?

What should I be looking for? I mean...

Hell I'll just say it: What should I be typing into google? Something about SOCKS?

I have no idea.
