Default Problem after last update

Hi all. After the last update (today) Jdownloader just hangs on the splash screen when I try to launch it. I removed the "plugins" folder from the "jd" directory and then the program starts fine, so I guess a corrupt plugin is the cause of the problem. But when I press the update button, nothing happens, and I don't know how to dowload just the plugins in order to replace them.

So my question is: how can I download just the plugins? Or, as a different approach, what files do I need in order to keep all my links if I re-install JDownloader?

By the way, I'm running Jdownloader 0.9.581 on a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.6.7

Thanks in advance

JDownloader should re-download the plugins automatically or at least when you press the update button.
If that doesn't work, try reinstalling JD completely.

Hello everybody)

I use an old PC for my downloads (an old DELL with WindowsXP which has been running 24/7 for 8 years).
After the latest update Jdownloader keeps crashing on me.

I've already done everything that has been suggested here:

- cleared the list
- a clean new installation copying back the config folder
- a clean new installation without copying back the config folder

Nothing works. Jdownloader opens, seems to run just fine, and after a while it crashes: the icon keeps showing in the taskbar but when i click on it it disappears. The running downloads are not completed.

So I guess there's something more than just the list problem.

I'm sorry to tell but you suffer the known C [msvcrt.dll+0x372e3] bug. someting you installed/updated on your computer crashes java. until now we dont know whats causing this and the only real help was a complete reinstall of windows.

Maybe this can help. It seams jdshutdown is causing the problem. I deleted it (folder and jar file) and it now works fine.

@momoiro

Did you upgrade your java as well? What's your java version?

@Iris-007

Please, read "Jdownloader Closes Itself".

Well then it's odd why suddently several people have the same problem with jdshutdown, including me.
jdownloader was working fine all the time, now suddently not starting at all. So I downloaded an older version from here and installed over the existing install, suddenly everything was working again. After installing all available updates, same again, jdownloader not starting! So I did the same again, this time disabling jdshutdown, and finally, also after installing all updates, jdownloader works as before. But as soon as I enable jdshutdown, same problem again.

Whatever the technical details are, jdshutdown did work before without problems, but now it causes jdownloader to not start anymore.

EDIT: It is the same issue someone else just reported here, jdownloader stopping with showing the splash screen.

and the java crash has nothing to do with *jd does not start*
crash is caused by the dll issue
the jd not start issue is, yes, caused by the jdshutdown, need more info to check this

please close jd and start it with windows_createlog.bat when you encounter the problem
then upload the 2 generated logfiles
need to investigate this as it works fine here
