Exact same problem here. Rapidgator premium account. Downloads may start at 20-40MB/s then crawls to 8-10Kbps.
If I stop the transfers and then click Start Downloads again speed then goes up again to 20-40MB/s. This doesn't make any sense. It's like having to be present and manually pushing a lever for the speed not to drop down.

I'm too having same problems for the last two months now with RG premium account (Windows 10). For years there weren't cases like this.
It is very annoying, I have to "stop" downloading (slow) and then re-start it again to gain normal full speed.

@Jiaz: thank you for offering help, and don't take it personally, but I don't feel comfortable connecting via Team Viewer (or similar) with someone I don't actually know.

@bembe16: All good. So we just have to wait for someone willing to do a Teamviewer session for further investigation on this

I just recorded how it happens. It does the same with every single file:

Also, these are my TCP settings, in case it has anything to do with them:

Thanks for the video. It shows that one connection is high speed and the other connection stays slow. Can you check if you also encounter the issue with max connections set to 1 ?

With just 1 chunk per download it stays stable at around 18 MiB/s, although my connection is able to do 50-70.

Thanks for testing it. And does the speed stay high when you increase parallel downloads instead of parallel connections/download ?

Thanks for helping with the video @Milincho. I am still having this issue a few months later. For reference, I have mine set to 1 chunk / 10 sim dl's and it is still randomly happening. I have found no rhyme or reason to why or when it occurs. I just have to watch and if it is slow, stop and restart. Usually once or twice fixes it. Occasionally I have to stop and restart up to five times or wait 5 minutes.

ETA: It happens on multiple computers, multiple OS's, from home or if I am traveling, VPN or direct.

Eventscripter script:
Code:
/*
    Automatically stop/restart slow downloads
    Trigger : Interval
*/

getRunningDownloadLinks().forEach(function(link) {
    if (
        link.downloadHost == "rapidgator.net" &&
        link.downloadDuration > 30000 &&
        link.speed < 128 * 1024
    ) {
        link.abort();
    }
});

As an FYI - with 1 chunk per download, the problem either occurs immediately or it doesn't occur at all. When there are multiple chunks per download, it appears that some chunks download at full speed and others download slowly. That's why it looks like the problem is happening at certain intervals.

I used to keep my chunks at 4 and, when the slowdown occurred, it would happen at 25, 50 or 75% which was really an indicator of how many of the chunks were being affected. Regardless of the number of chunks, the problem still occurs at the same frequency per chunk being downloaded. But, because fewer chunks are being downloaded, it appears times (but the same percentage of time per chunk).

The script works like a charm. Thank you.

Same Here speeds of up to 110Mbps on rapidgator then around 80% complete speeds drop down to kbps but not always at random.

New Computer, New ISP/Router same thing.

Tried the script so far so good

New to this forum ---

I have had the same issues as the OP. How to implement this script that seems to solve the RG slowness? Any guidance or pointing me to the thread that shows how to implement it would be great!

Tx
