Avoiding direct downloads throttling replacing hostnames for real IPs
Hi,
I suspect that in the network of my university are throttling direct downloads so the download speed goes up and down continuously. I had thought that if the system is sufficiently simple, maybe I can replace the hoster names (say rapidshare.com) for their real IPs (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX style) to avoid this throttling system. The problem is that when I make the replacements and I reload these links in JDownloader it says that are offline, but when I try "Open in browser" these links are opened perfectly, anyone have any explanation? Thanks a lot! And excuse me for my poor english!

From which hosts are you downloading ? Are you a free- or a premiumuser ? Please note that rapidshare limits the speed of freeusers by sending them one megabyte at fullspeed, then nothing for some seconds and then one megabyte again  GreeZ pspzockerscene

@ PSP (for opinion):
1) To avoid ISP throttling, it would be nice to have an option for 32 bit IP encoding (single unsigned integer representation of IP bytes) 2) Do the major hosters support IPv6 yet?. IPv6 tunnelling generally hides from gateway filters.
