Is there a place to distribute LAFSettings JSON files?
Heya, I don't know exactly why you guys have a broken themeing setup where the themes and LAFSettings are separate but all the colors are stored in a JSON file in \%localappdata%\JDownloader 2.0\cfg\laf\ so alongside the included themes is there a place users can share files like my **External links are only visible to Support Staff**SyntheticaBlackEyeLookAndFeel.json? Since they are just plaintext maybe even a subforum for users to post their settings in? I've lost count of how many times someone has seen my JDownloader setup and went "WTF?! There's a dark mode!?"
Hope to hear back from you guys soon. |

Can you please explain what you mean by *why you guys have a broken themeing setup*?
I'm sorry but I don't understand? There haven't been any changes to GUI/LookAndFeel since many many months/maybe years.

There is a "Theme" and then a separate "LookAndFeel" which need to be combined into the same group of settings and/or file. This way if you change a theme it also changes the LAFSettings. In my opinion, there is absolutely NO reason why this hasn't been implemented for years. Sorry if I sound bitter I'm just critical of program design since I've done quite a bit of UI/UX Design myself. This is what I mean by "broken themeing setup" -- as in you took one thing and turned it into two halves when it didn't need to be. If people knew that JDownloader was themeable/customizable I think it would draw in even more users/supporters as there are entire userbases for programs that use their program of choice just because it's customizable. Also, you didn't answer my question -- you just asked me a question. XD |

Now I understand! You want the LAFSettings bound to the current theme? So when you change theme id it also changes to different LAFSettings and when you change theme back, then also change back LAFSettings?

Yes!
I feel that would simplify the ability for users to theme JDownloader2. |

I will check if that can be done easily

Awesome, I really hope it can be done easily.
And in case you didn't see my link, or for others that can't click it, here is all I've changed in LAF to make the BLACK_EYE theme functional for me. Feel free to tweak it however you want. Code:
{ "colorforscrollbarsmouseoverstate" : "#ff333333", "colorforpanelbackground" : "#ff2a2a2a", "colorfortablemouseoverrowbackground" : "#ff2a2a2a", "colorforpanelborders" : "#ff222222", "colorfortablepackagerowbackground" : "#ff222222", "colorfortableselectedrowsbackground" : "#ff333333", "colorfortablealternaterowbackground" : "#ff202020", "colorforpanelheaderbackground" : "#ff222222", "colorforscrollbarsnormalstate" : "#ff666666" } |
