Exclamation archive.org: files that require login:error "This file is not downloadable or broken"

Hi.

As many will know, archive.org team suffered a Denial-of-service (DDoS) attack from hackers.

They were down for several weeks.

Recently they fully reactivated user login feature, so users now can download specific files that required to be logged in.

Then, the archive.org plugin needs to be updated. Because actually JD can't download files like the following (which requires user-login to download):

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

Here you can find a lot more of links that the archive.org plugin will refuse to download:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

The plugin gives a message error in JD that says: "This file is not downloadable or broken".

Note: Of course I have my archive.org user/pass set in JD. This issue started only after the DDoS attack.

That's all. Thanks in advance!

Works fine here.

Please post your log-ID here
If your report is about a specific website which JD supports via plugin, please also provide example URLs which can be used to reproduce the issue you are having.
If your report is related to a login specific problem with a plugin supported website, enable debug mode before creating logs, see previously linked instructions.

Bitte poste deine Log-ID hier.

I've fixed this issue based on other reports we got.
Unlike some users thought, this was not caused by any kind of protection from archive.org.
The plugin had a handling for "permanently not downloadable items".
This was wrongly triggered when archive.org went down or when it came back online.
It only affected items that JD tried to download in that phase and only items where an account is needed for downloading.

After the next update, all of these items should be downloadable again.

Hi, and thanks for support.

I've updated JD, but the error message stills the same, the only difference I see is that now the icon displayed changed to a green exclamation, and now also it comes with an ETA countdown to automatically retry the download:

Before the update, the icon displayed was red (I think it was a red cross), and without an ETA.

When you answered and asked me about more problematic example URLs to test, I tried to say that EVERY single zip file / file url from this archive is giving the same problem:

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

Just need to copy that link, and every zip file grabbed by the JD linkgrabber it will fail to download giving that error message that I've reported. At least in my specific case. I've tried it just now and it gives me that error when JD tries to download any zip file.

EDIT:

This is a log id where I just run JD, enable one item from my list, and I start the download:

07.11.24 05.51.09 <--> 07.11.24 05.51.39
jdlog://1756411370661/

This is another log id where I run JD, I grab a problematic link with the linkgrabber and I start the download of that grabbed item:

07.11.24 05.52.02 <--> 07.11.24 05.52.36
jdlog://2756411370661/

(debug mode is enabled in both logs)

Correct.
Before the update, it was a permanent error.

It shouldn't have happened again either way.

Looking into your logs, I found the problem:
Your login session has expired but the plugin failed to notice this.
I've updated the login handling.

After the update, do the following:
1. Settings -> Account Manager -> Rightclick on your Archive.org account -> Refresh
If the account gets an error status ,delete- and re-add it.

2. Now try downloading again.
If your currently existing links get an error status again (that specific status gets cached on the links for 3 hours), delete them, re-add them and try again.
It should work now.

Updating for new plugin, then deleting and re-adding the archive.org account it did the trick.

Problem solved.

Many thanks!.

Thanks for your feedback and thanks for staying on topic - sometimes it takes multiple attempts to find certain bugs
