Hello,
for a long time I had the problem that jDownloader suddenly freezes and gets stuck at "Connecting..." the past few days I tried to get rid of the problem. The problem occurs both on Windows 7 (core2duo, geforce GT9600M GS) and XP SP 3 (celeron, intel onboard gpu) Here's what I tried already: - Deactivate any Firewall - Deactivate any Antivirus - Only one D/L at a time - jDownloader not running in /program files/ folder and also deactivating direct3d and setting ram to 512mb (the command line command found here w/boardsearch) now the D/L didn't get stuck for some time (maybe more than 10 hours), but suddenly it crashed again. this time i could copy the "error" message from the java-window: ![]() perhaps this little logfile can help solving the problem. if any further log or information is required please let it know. thanks for the good work! Edit: I only download from netload.in Edit2: java version "1.6.0_18" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_18-b07) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 16.0-b13, mixed mode, sharing) Edit3: Now using java 1.6.0_17 - problem still exists. Edit4: error log see : http://board.jdownloader.org/attachm...7&d=1266331505 Last edited by cvbbn; 16.02.2010 at 18:48. |

jD runs fine on java version 1.6.0_17. Version 1.6.0_18 seems to cause problems.

Did you monitor the memory consumption of the java(w) process? Does it exceed 512 MB?
I think the jD Team will need logs or dumps (after crash) for finding the cause of your problem. Another software is probably crashing/killing Java. Check for hs_err_pid... files in your jD folder. If there are any, please post them here. |

no, there are no such files in the directory. (nor in the subfolders).
after several hours, javaw.exe uses about 110 MB memory. i'll enable logging and post it here as soon as possible. |

jDownloader just crashed, but i could not make a log because altough the Logging is enabled ("ALL"), there is no "Log" category as it is in the wiki - what is wrong?

If you don't find any hs_err_pid... files in your jD directory then you can start jD as follows in a command window :-
cd %your jd directory% java.exe -verbose -jar -Xmx512m JDownloader.jar -debug 2>errlog.txt >log.txt Archive (zip, rar, etc.) the log files that you'll find in your jD directory and attach the archive to your post. |

Got the same problem with Java 1.6.0_18, changed to Java 1.6.0_17, no stuck at connecting anymore...
How do you know that you are using Java 1.6.0_17 now? |

because of this:
C:\>java -version java version "1.6.0_17" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.3-b01, mixed mode, sharing) |

Did you already reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1 or 2?
Could you please switch off or disable automatic reconnect, logging, and automatic captcha recognition? I'm just guessing here as I'm not a Java programmer. Last edited by remi; 17.02.2010 at 12:24. |

max d/l and conns are both "1"
if I disable reconnect or captcha-recognition, the whole thing is very hard to reproduce since thre is only 1 download an hour. possibly someone ofthe jD team can help... i think now they have all they need (log, screenshot, exact problem description, ...) |

@cvbbn
I would like to see whether the bug is in one of those functions, but your're free to wait for a dev to pass by. I use those settings (I have no captcha links at the moment) and I haven't any problems. It depends on the size of the files and your connection speed, but I can easily download several files per hour. Try to find alternative links for RS, because RS sometimes is very slow. @tony2long:
i did uninstall 6.18 before, so the only version shown here is the one you activated at your screenshot (6.17). sorry for the question, but what do you mean with "psp" and "dbrits"? @remi: i'll try to reproduce the error with reconnect and/or captchas deactivated. as i normally only use netload, the slow RS speed does not matter to me ![]() |
