Download speed way below speed limit.
I've been having this problem for a while now. It comes and goes randomly and I can't reproduce it.
Let's say I set the download limit at 5mb/s the speed hovers at around 2-3mb/s no matter what I try. Stop-Start, set more chunks per download. However the moment I remove the speed limit the speed jumps to the maximum (7-8mb/s). Any ideas what might be causing this? |

Where do you download from? What host? Free/Premium?
What are your Max Downloads/Max Connections Settings? Is this on your Computer or NAS device? What firewall/av are you using?

I use real-debrid primarily.
Max downloads/chunks is 2/3. Using windows 10 x64 downloading on internal hard drive. Using Kaspersky Total Security and have added JDownloader2.exe in the exclusions. |

Very likely to be caused by Kaspersky. JDownloader throttles speed by throttling read from socket and as this socket is intercepted by Kaspersky which is buffering the download, this can easily cause the speed up/downs. When you limit speed in JDownloader, open taskmanager and check the network tab to check speed graph and see what the real speed is. Also please test with more downloads and max connections set to 1

Ok I'm having a hard time reproducing the problem. It comes and goes. Is it enough to add jdownloader2.exe in the exceptions or do I need to add anything else?

It should be enough but you'll never know *what magic* Kaspersky does. Can you check if you can reproduce the speed up/downs also with max connections set to 1 ?

No If I put 4 downloads with max connection set to 1 it maxes out the speed limit or not.

I'm sorry but I don't understand. Does the speed limit work or not with 4 downloads and max connections set to 1? I don't know what you mean by *maxes out the speed limit or not*

It means it's working like it's supposed to. The limit and the speed are both at 5mb/s

And you only changed max connections? And can you test again with max connections higher? please know that you either have to rightclick reset the link or start new downloads to use higher max connections.
Thanks for the feedback. Maybe it was just temporarily hiccup. In case it happens again with more connections, then it's very likely be caused by firewall/av

Yes I changed the max connections to 1 and max downloads to 4. When it happens again I will take some screens and ask again. Thanks for your help.
