Windows 10 64-bit, AdoptOpenJDK 11.0.3. Updating to core r40912.

Steps taken:

• Title bar stated "Updates available!" so pressed update button.
• Update window (with progress bar) appears. Prompted to restart JD, clicked "Restart".

Expected behaviour:

• JD main window disappears
• Update installs
• JD main window reappears

Actual behaviour:

• JD main window disappears
• Update installs
• JD main window does not reappear. javaw.exe is no longer running.

I should add that, at other times, I have exited JD wihle updates were available and JD unexpectedly did restart, but I cannot reliably reproduce that at this time.

Log shows that the selftest doesn't delete the file
java.lang.Exception: C:\jd\tmp\selftest_1562793052828 still available. Timeout: 60000
Anything special about your setup? What firewall/av are you using?

Please do the following. Close JDownloader and delete the logs folder. When this happens again, please zip the complete log folder and send to support@jdownloader.org

I could not reproduce any error with Java11 on Linux myself :(
