Post [Function request] I want you to be able to set the wait time.

When downloading multiple files, set the waiting time after downloading one file, and allow the next file to be downloaded after a lapse of time.
Please add this feature.
This also reduces the load on the server side.

next download tends to start after previous one finishes (assuming all download slots are been used), either the download starts, or on error (which we parse for) we throw exceptions which specify the times (either static, or parsed from error message).
some plugins do have ability to do a prewait post download (rapidgator i think), for example they only show the error message after captcha event.

you could have finer control right now, but you would need to create yourself some management hierarchy utilising the event scripter.

for some plugins I did have in plugin control over slots, and starting one at a time.. this was to prevent a series of queued captchas and error after the first or second download.

Do you have an example host where normal behaviour causes too much load?

If you really want this, you could easily use the eventscriper and add script after download stopped and then simply wait given time, see https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=70525
In case you need help with this, ask mgpai for help. He's our script master!
