Default It Will Not Start

JDownloader was working very well just a few weeks ago.
I stopped using it for a while and now when I click it, it doesn't start at all.
I tried extracting a new copy of JDownloader using winRAR
and I got this problem on while extracting:

! E:\Downloads\JDownloader_0.6.193 (1).zip: Cannot create JDownloader 0.6.193\jd\languages\Catal?Valenci?lng
! The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

But it still doesn't work.

I know I have to post a Log file, but I can't find it.

Anyone know the solution?

any help is appreciated.

this file is not important, seems your filesystem cant handle the filename?
extract without the file and it should work

I deleted all the language files except English, then extracted it.
it still doesn't work.
I click it, it goes to the loading mouse, then reverts back to normal, and nothing happens.

I tried it again with only deleting the problem file.
everything is still the same.

Cool

Please, check whether java.exe and javaw.exe are added to the exclude list of your firewall.

I turned my firewall off.

Edit: I tried it with it turned on, and unblocking java.exe and javaw.exe, it still doesn't work.

My OS is Microsoft Windows XP home edition(5.1 , build 2600)

how do I check Java version?

And how do I run the command in console? (where do I open the console?)

Sorry people, I do not know a lot about computers.

Cool

In order to open a console, go to Start (left bottom menu in task bar) -> Run and type "cmd" (without quotes). You can also find the console in All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt.

For the version type "java -version".

Every command should be terminated by pressing the return key. You can paste commands in the command window (right click).

In order to start the application you need to navigate to your jDownloader directory with the "cd yourdirectorypath" command. You can copy the path from your file explorer address bar.
Then you can execute Jiaz' command "java -Xmx512m -jar JDownloader.jar -debug". If you want the debug information stored in a file, add " > debug.txt" to the previous command.

I found my Java version to be 1.6.0_14

I did the command, but where do I get the file for adding ">debug.txt."?

If you execute "java -Xmx512m -jar JDownloader.jar -debug > debug.txt", the file debug.txt with the debug info will be in your jDownloader directory.
