As you all know everyone wants special hosters to download from with the JDownloader.
The problem is that there are suggested hosters that are suggested only by one user so it isn't always worth it to make plugins for such hosters!
With this thread you get a chance to vote for the hosters you think should be implemented (next).

Wie ihr alle wisst will jeder seinen Lieblingshoster gerne im JD haben nur macht es wenig Sinn einen Hoster zu implementieren, der nur von einem Benutzer gewünscht bzw. benutzt wird.
Deswegen dürft ihr jetzt selbst den Hoster wähen, der als nächstes aufgenommen werden soll!

I vote for no new hosters -- at least until all the major bugs that have come to light in the last couple of weeks are fixed.

jD seems to be a lot less stable now than it was last year, and maybe that's because more attention is paid to adding more and more hosts, instead of working on the core functions.

Maybe I'm just selfish, but I only need 3 hosts to be happy: RS, MU, MS.
Sometimes I try others, but they're usually so slow as to be unusable, or drop the connection halfway through a long download if I give them a few hours to try.

The devs still decide which hoster comes first but maybe the vote gives em some priority!

Yeah you're right too but i think waittime will be over in about a week.
A plugin update is already released (plugins load on the fly so you won't notice new plugins).

I cannot agree more.

The reason IMO why so much attention is going to these less popular hosters is that solving problems is a tedious and very difficult task that only a few people are able to perform. I don't know whether bad architectural choices have been made in jD (my first impression of jD when I started using it was very positive), but these would make things worse. The people that are able to correct these bad choices are very rare.

Adding new hosters or updating them seems to be a much easier task, that can be done by less skilled/talented programmers. The last category of programmers is much bigger...ask micro$oft. 99% of micro$oft programmers is creating bugs, 1% is able to correct some of them.

Conclusion: the number of bugs increases with every added functionality. When it's no longer possible to correct all the bugs, the application is abandoned or is overtaken by a competitor application that uses a newer, higher level, less error-prone, more robust architecture.

Currently bugs are being fixed abd supporters (like me) always have to tell you the same: WAIT till the update is released!

I'd vote for MilleDrive anyday over hot-file or veoh and shit.

Coz MilleDrive has both File Hosting and Video-Sharing - and the online video quality is amazing!

Because the codies do what they want or rather first what's easy!
Not every dev can make every plugin so they make the easy ones first^^
They told me for exemple that veoh.com would be very hard...

Very hard, but not impossible. Sometimes we create plugins just to improve JD functionality. Voting is another cue for us, which say what hosters users would like to see in JD Supported Hosters list.
And yes, some hosters are easier to implement, so we often implement few easier first.

I grabbed the latest version and wen through all the updates 0.4.936 and hotfile.com does not work right. It downloads what looks like a rar file, but when you drag this rar file to ultraedit (text editor), it is really html. Is there any additional configuration I need to do to make hotfile.com work?

Because its quite some work to make a plugin (okay, depends on the hosters site).
Also why should we implement non-requested hosts ?

veoh.com seems to be very hard to do so i don't know if and/or when somebody will do it!
