I'm setting up a new laptop and did a fresh install of JD.
On a desktop PC running WIn7 Pro, JD has no problem downloading from DropA (drop.download). On the laptop running Win11 Home with the same drop.download link, JD reports that it's blocked by Ddos-Guard. Firefox on both Win7 and Win11 processes the download link by displaying a captcha. Solving the captcha then brings up another drop.download server specific link. I clipped and pasted that new link into JD on Win11. JD is able to download the file from drop.download on the laptop. The desktop PC is connected by ethernet to a router. The laptop connects to the router by WiFi. Both the desktop PC and the laptop are using the identical HOSTS file. Windows Defender has been disabled on Win7. I disabled the Domain, Private and Public profiles on Windows Firewall on Win11 on the laptop. I can get JD to work on Win11, but the difference between how JD behaves on Win7 vs Win11 is puzzling. Any idea about what the problem might be? Is there a setting in JD or Windows Firewall that that has be adjusted on Win11 so that JD can process the original drop.download links? ..................... Below are the links I used to test JD on the laptop. **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** |

ddos-guard is very similar to Cloudflare.
TL;DR: This is not a JDownloader bug! Please read: English / Englisch the issue you've reported has been caused by Cloudflare/DDos-Guard or similar. I did read the thread about Cloudflare/DDos-Guard before I posted my report.
I did one more test, this time on Win10. Fresh install of JD on Win10, JD is blocked. Copied JD install from Win7 PC to Win10, JD works. To review: Link to a file hosted on drop.download. The identical link used in the following circumstances has these results: JD on Win7 pro works. Firefox on Win7 works. JD on Win 11 Home is blocked. Firefox on Win11 works. Using Firefox to obtain the DropA server specific url by solving the captcha and pasting the link into JD, JD then works. Fresh install of JD on Win10 is blocked. Copied JD install from Win7 onto Win10, JD then works. So it appears there's something about the JD install on Win7 that allows JD to download from drop.download on Win10, but a fresh install is blocked. Is there anything I should check in the JD settings on Win7 that might fix the problem? I had to deliver the laptop running Win11, so I can't test JD on Win11 Home. But it appears testing on Win10 might be sufficient. Last edited by weblurker; 29.11.2023 at 08:43. |

TL;DR
- Cloudflare and similar issues are not related to JDownloader thus we can't provide any support for such problems - If there was any kind of fix, you would already find that in said Cloudflare thread

I did a fresh install of JD onto a Win10 installation and it was blocked. I copied the not blocked Win7 JD installation onto the very same Win10 PC and it wasn't blocked by Ddos-Guard. It downloaded normally. If nothing else, at a minimum that's one working solution. Copy a Win7 installation of JD onto Win10 or Win11 and JD isn't blocked by Ddos-Guiard. OTOH, it really does appear that there's something about the JD settings in the fresh Win10 and Win11 installations that is causing the block. Right now, on the same Win10 PC, there is one shortcut to JD that is a fresh install and it's blocked. On the same Win10 PC, there's another shortcut to a JD installation that was copied from Win7 and it isn't blocked. I'll compared the JD settings of the working copied JD vs the blocked JD installation. On the settings that are different, I'll change them on the blocked JD one by one, until JD works. However, do you have any guesses as to which settings I should try first? |

You can verify that information by looking into the JDownloader source code: https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...up-ide-eclipse As said, services like DDoS-Guard and Cloudflare are blackboxes. We won't put any time into understanding them. You can find other services/solutions to circumvent DDoS-Guard/Cloudflare mentioned in the Cloudflare thread. Quote:
Mostlly your issue is related to the headers of the browser which JDownloader is using internally. Some plugins allow you to configure custom user-agent values (for example drive.google.com) but that's all. Quote:
The cause needs to be something else! Either way I hope you will find a solution and post it here so that it can be helpful for other users as well.

Addendum:
To really find the difference between headers and http requests between those two configs, I recommend looking into your logs and comparing said requests and headers. Once you found the difference the next step would be to try to find out where the difference comes from. It could be as simple as a forgotten proxy setup in one config which then triggers DDoS-Guard. Even though the blackbox is complex, the used IP and headers especially the User-Agent header do typically matter a lot.
