Default Freezes when adding new links

Since a few days jD for Windows started randomly (but frequently) freezing, and the only way to make it respond again is to force close it.
This always happens after adding new links (manually or with linkgrabber)

Here's my log:
02.11.17 03.59.24 <--> 02.11.17 03.59.11 jdlog://5530914015941/

Log looks good but it seems that disk access is VERY slow
Reading a small image from disk takes longer than 10 seconds, which is blocking the GUI.
You should check your filesystem, scan it. Also check smart values of your disk

Chkdsk and SMART don't report any health problems, it may depend from the fact that my HDs have plenty of files (I mean, A LOT), which slows down some folder. Could that be the cause of a permanent GUI freeze? jD doesn't respond even after minutes and all I can do is to force close and restart it

Large folders(many files) and slow hdd can cause high io waiting times which can make gui slow, look like frozen.
You could check if your disk is heavily fragmented and maybe run defrag.
Do you have another disk in system and maybe move JDownloader to different drive?

Actually JDownloader is on c:\ which is the only drive without that many files (although D:, which is a logical drive on the same HD, is), just Windows and Programs, no data, but i'll try cleaning it up even more. I'm on Windows 10, which afaik automatically does a defrag periodically

Any av tool that may cause slow downs because of scanning files?

The only av on system is Windows Defender
Freeze times are very long, i think they aren't just slow downs, but maybe next time I'll wait like 10 mins to see if it starts responding again or not

I can only tell what I see in logs. It clearly shows that the GUI is waiting for FavIcon to load from disk.

I didn't know that the problem was related to favicon loading (actually, shame on me, I don't know how to read a jd log!), but this information made me try to play with advanced settings.
I searched for "favicon", and changed the values of two of them. I can't tell for sure that it's what fixed it, but since then (a few days) no freeze happened at all!

The settings I changed are:
Favicon: Max Threads - Default value was 12, changed to 6 (less load?)
Favicon: Last Refresh - Value was a timestamp, changed to 0 (so to force a refresh?), now it's a timestamp again

Of course, I just played around with settings, pointing me in using better values is welcome

Thanks for the feedback!

You can easily reduce Max Threads, 1 is also fine.
Last Refresh: 0 -> correct, that's causing a refesh
