2 Issues: Linkgrabber + HTTP links
hi everyone
I have noticed the following: 1- Linkgrabber Linkgrabber can not grab links if there are spaces in the URL and break the link at the space I often have to manually encode URL by replacing spaces with %20 (or grab the URL from page source) Linkgrabber also seems to have problem with apostrophe if encoded %27 2- Direct HTTP links My internet connection is not reliable and get disconnected from time to time. In case of my premium account (RS/HF) JD retries after a waiting period But in case of Direct HTTP links, it marks them offline and does not try them again There have been times that I set up a download list overnight and came in the morning to see that due to a temporary disconnection, it has stopped downloading the Direct HTTP links altogether. Thank you :) Last edited by Jiaz; 01.09.2011 at 09:08. |

1) jD doesn't support links that aren't supported by normal browsers. Normal browsers comply to the W3C standards for URIs.
2) A standard automatic retry facility, for errors that aren't permanent, has been discussed many times on this board. An in depth analysis can be found in the discussion surrounding a better state diagram for jD. See also and |

1.) please provide example links with "apostrophe if encoded %27" where it fails, then i can check it
1.1.) spaces must be urlencoded, without this how should jd know when a link starts and when ends. note: next jdownloader version can also grab the html code of the webbrowser so this should no longer be problem 2.) need example links and logfiles. jd should not mark them as offline in that case. http://support.jdownloader.org/index...&kbarticleid=8

Thank you remi & Jiaz
These issues has happened to me (last time was last week) I will find examples to post. AFA spaces in the URl, I am aware of the W3C standards for URIs. FDM (Free Download Manger) automatically replaces white spaces (urlencodes) I tested RS & HF remote uploaders and RS does it but HF does not do it properly (it downloads it but naming the file stops at the space) Correction: I use a rapidleech which replaces apostrophe with (& #039; I put a space after & order for the code to be shown) here is an example of the link: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** #039;s%20Personal%20Teachings.mkv FDM is able to download (although the file naming breaks at &) RS remote uploader has no problem with it |

the ' works fine in my current developer version, so this should be fixed with next major update.

The board's software didn't parse the link neither.
I took Code:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff** Quote:

Thank you Jiaz & Remi
AFA HTTP links stopping after disconnection......I suggest the following (My log doesnt have it any more) - Set up a few direct HTTP links - Start downloading with JD - Disconnect the internet connection - JD reports links as file not found and disables them - reconnect internet connection - Since JD was not waiting for connection to resume, it does not continue Then you have to enable the downloads and set them to resume to restart the download In case of premium RS, JD starts a timer and rechecks the internet connection and once the connection is re-established, continues with the download |

This is covered in the discussions I mentioned. The disabling of links shouldn't happen. Only the customer should be able to disable links. These links should be in an "in error" state.
