Default Fritz!Box Reconnect via Telnet

Hi,
I just used first time JDownloader

Its a bad idea to suggest users to fully enable UPNP in Fritz!Box just to be able to do a reconnect! (Remember: By default, Fritz!Box UPNP is read-only, so trojan-horses etc. will not be able to do any changes like port-forewarding, while read-only UPNP-functions work fine).

Here is the better way:
Do do a reconnect, open telnet-session to Fritz!Box and, after sending the password, just send:

dsld -s && dsld

This will stop the dsl-daemon (dsl -s) and start it again (dsl).
When You receive the prompt-string, reconnection is already done.
So easy

edit:: telnet is included in somewhat newer releases of the fritz!box firmware, but users have to dial a special telefonecode to enable telnet.

grx

err..
1. wrong forum (why have u posted in german wishes ??)
2. no one uses telnet anymore, it is THIS old. (u could use Morse codes for equal)
3. for fritz!boxes i recommend special reconnect-scripts that dont need UPNP to be active

1. sorry, hmm ... shall I continue in german or in english?
2. well, telnet is a good choice at this point, because users can just use it, whilst for a ssh-connection users would have to install a sshd like dropbear to their fritzbox.
3. which reconnect-scripts do you mean? I managed to record and use a http-script, but this is an ugly method and with next firmwareupdate it may change. Even more, this wasn't a beginners-friendly approach If you have a better script, please let me know.

Default I'm sorry...UPNP-Reconnect just works fine!

Hi,
well it was my mistake.

I just discovered that Fritz!Box allows Reconnect via UPNP even if UPNP-controlling is not enabled!

For some reason, JDownloader told me to change the UPNP-Settings in Fritz!Box because UPNP-Reconnect failed.

As I discovered that UPNP-reconnect does work, I tried this setting again in JDownloader-Config and well: now it works.

So maybe, the admin may just remove this thread....
