Allow java(.exe) and javaw(.exe) in your firewall and virus software. Disable the port 80/html/web scanner in your virus software.

Reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1.

If that doesn't help, what about some example links and a detailed log?

All other downloads are working correctly, just hotfile erroring.
I bought a primium hotfile account, and still the same error.
I feel nervous changing firewall settings when all other file hosters work with jdownloader. is this necessary to do when other files like rapidshare work properly?

I can try and change the max conn settings. I have a rapidshare premium and hotfile. on a cable modem UK. Does max connections speed up these downloads? will i notice it slow down if i reduce max connections?

If you think the problem is related to hotfile only, please post some example links and a detailed log.

Concerning the max.con. setting :- if it works with a very low number, then you can gradually increase it again until it stops working.
