different jd versions
i read about nightly, alpha, beta, stable and developer version. this really freaks me out because i think some people mix these up.
so i understand what the stable version is and i understand what nightly is. as i think i understood, the alpha is the alpha version of the major release of the new jd and needs to be compiled in order to work but it will be released officially soon and one will be able to update it like the nightly version. so what do people mean when they say beta or developer version? i mean do they even exist? thanks for clarification |

current releases
stable = 0.9.581 version, branch name last09. Hasn't recieved updates for 2+ years, not including plugins nightly = no version, branch NIGHTLY. Hasn't received updates for 1+ years, not including plugins alpha = what's been on our svn. It will be released under version number '2'. Appwork guys have just renamed the about window to 'beta' but it's not publicly available unless you compile yourself. And is not our current 'beta' release. You will be informed in due time of when our next roll over of versions. You won't be able to 'update' it with jdupdate.jar or within the old jdownloader in house updater. We have a new update system and they are not backward compatible. You will need to grab our new updater jar or exe or upgrade via formal installer. developer version dependencies are 'svn/alpha'. When v2 becomes stable those old comments within plugins will be removed. If you are referring to zippyshare or rtmpt type of feature support
