Does JD close correct? Or does it crash?
Did you modify your .vmoptions file to limit memory usage?

Please remove the memory limitation to 256mb!
In your .vmoptions file, remove the line "-Xmx256m" This causes your JDownloader to crash (out of memory) Invalid Download Directory -> The Folder does not exist. Either it simply does not exists or usb drive not attached or attached under wrong label

In your JDownloader folder. Same name as your Exe file only with .vmoption at the end

Did it*
we'll see what happens anyway I suppose that the limitation to 256mb (the line "-Xmx256m") was in the default installation... in both of my computer cause I've never touched that line... maybe cause my laptops are old and slow? |

How old are your installations? Fresh or very old?

Please check if those limits come back again.
In case they are, then you have very old version and please manually update the line to -Xmx512m When you have at least 1GB of RAM

well... more than 3 years...
is 3 years too old? |

Yes, then very likely the auto fix
I'm sure the line will come back after next Start and then change it manually to above, depending on how much memory your computer has
