Exclamation Disconnect? Wait 04m:59s / Plugin outdated, try restarting this link Download Failed!

Hi guys, hoping you can help me out here.

Two days ago I started downloading something from wupload.com. After a while, the connection failed. At the same time I added more links from Rapidshare and Filesonic, and never was able to start these downloads. I simply got the Disconnect? Wait 04m:59s message.

Since then I looked at the forums, updated JD to the latest version and made sure that my firewall isn't blocking the java and javaw executables. The Wupload file resumed for a bit and then stopped again, now with the new version I get the message "Plugin outdated, try restarting this link Download Failed!". When I press refresh or resume it normally goes back to the Disconnect? message.

It looks like my download with wupload kept trying to connect and failed, because I now have the status "Hoster blocking IP address due to abuse"

Please can you help me! I'm attaching my log and a screenshot
Log is in zip format because apparently it was too big to send as a .txt

first of all wupload still allows resume. second of all theirs still something messing with jdownloader, as you have disconnection issues with every hoster. Make sure your not running any http/web scanner in antivirus/firewall/malware packages, if you do either disable or configure to allow exemptions. Make sure you've set up your computer correctly allowing java.exe javaw.exe in all the security based programs, one exemption doesn't necessary cover other sections features, this is typical with live http/web scanners.

Hosters can block your ip after many attempts of downloading and failing, this is a typical response to prevent hits on downloads (as many hosters pay uploaders when someone downloads).

I don't have any http/web scanners installed and I made sure that on windows firewall java and javaw is allowed through. Could someone please take a look at my logfile? Maybe it will help...

@mccue

Can you download these files in your browser?

Can you also temporarily stop Azureus (Vuze) if you're running it. I've never had problems with it but you never know that some setting makes jD unusable.

I don't think I have MS Essentials installed.

Right, I think I know what the problem is. I'm in China and access to rapidshare and filesonic is blocked without using a VPN, which I have. It still doesn't explain why I have been having so much problems with wupload though, becuase access in china isn't blocked to that website.

Does anyone know how to connect JDownloader to a VPN? Thanks

Just in case that isn't the problem, please help!

If you're running your computer on a VPN, jD should also be able to use the VPN.

Maybe this thread can be useful as well :- "JD and openvpn".

Ok, I fixed the problem. Just in case anyone runs into the same problem that I had, if you have astrill, the easiest way is to fix the problem is to log out of the astrill software, and in the bottom left change the setting to openvpn and then log back in!
