[Solved in JD2] Music videos from vevo

Hi there,

Since the release of Internet Downloader Manager 6 the support for downloading VEVO videos directly from the website has been added.

I thought maybe JDownloader team can also add a plugin for decrypting VEVO videos just like the one they added for YouTube.

depends on the country you live, the vevo hosted content (as it is here and doesn't reference youtube) provided over the rtmp family protocol.

I'm in New Zealand(if it makes a difference). So does this mean that you cannot download fro "vevo.com"?

Also the link i provided does not lead to youtube(in my country anyway). And it would appear there is no way to download from the site as when i use the link-grabber on the website URL, no video files appear, only pictures(JPEG,PNG, etc). In the pictures it appears there is a frame of the video. And if you use link-grabber on the page again a different frame will appear. It's almost like vevo streams you each frame and the audio (which i think raztoki might be saying whenhe says "rtmp family protocol", but i'm not quite savy enough to fully understand it).

As far I know, the vevo videos (from vevo.com) only be seen in United States and Canada. In the other countries they are blocked.

"VEVO is available in the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Spain and United Kingdom through VEVO.com"

Perhaps the information is displayed different in the countries. In my last visit vevo said that the videos are only available in United States and Canada, maybe because they are the countries that are closer to where I live.

Edit: ah yes... just installed the .exe from the site, free and no likeing toolbars guaranteed.
Just FreemakeVideoCapture install a service you must disable. However always watch the installation in custom mode very carefully... for this kind of soft i suggest for the installation you use a tool like Total Uninstall, it would be preferable i think. Sorry but at this time for Vevo i do not know another free program which works.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the name this looks to be video capturing software, which is never as higher quality as the original, which is unfortunately not really a solution. The reason for using JDownloader in the first place is because it actually downloads the videos instead of capturing and converting.

You are wrong, Freemake Video Capture is just a part of the software probably implemented to install the unwanted service i talked (after the installation go to config panel/administration tools/services/FreemakeVideoCapture, then stop the service and right click on it > properties > startup type = disabled.) You can choose to download all sort of quality available, see the screenshots below: (to try it i downloaded your vid from Vevo in mp4).

Edit: Also thank you to raztoki for lodging the request for the hoster/decrypter for vevo. While Freemake does do the job... i would much prefer to use Jdownloader.

3. Please simply stop asking
3.1. JD is NOT IDM okay - its 2 different programs!
3.2. Chunks of chunkload and downloading single files which are chunks are 2 completely different things!
As said, we will soon implement the preferred HLS download to get the highest quality.
4. We cannot use this API because we don't have the token!
However, we're using something similar.
If you have problems because of the geo block, please post a log and example links!

HLS support at this given time is provided ffmpeg, far as we are aware it can not resume or chunkload. I talked over with Appwork yesterday to maybe write our own HLS support instead of using ffmpeg entirely. For example download segments with JD HTTP core and then merge/demux with ffmpeg, that should give us greater flexibility.
