Default Request Assistance Downloading a Video on Vimeo (2nd & Different Example)

Hello,

I am a fairly new user of JDownloader. I submitted a problem I had with a Vimeo video and you kindly shared a workaround and are now going to update the plugin in the future - see https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=84517 Thank you for helping me.

There is now a different Vimeo video I would like to get, but I am having some problems getting JDownloader to recognize the video so I would like some advice as to whether I am doing something wrong or if this video can even be downloaded by your program (I understand some cannot be).

Because of the virus, many film festivals have been sharing films online with visitors instead of hosting them in crowded theaters. For example, the "Documentary Showcase: Art and Travel" festival is offering several films for viewers to watch for free until May 31. The list of movies can be found at **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

When you click on the "Stream It Here" link to view the fourth film on the page ("Sigg"), it takes you to a Vimeo link at **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** For the entire month of May this film is hosted on Vimeo and it is free for anyone in the USA and Canada to watch as many times as they wish until May 31. To view it for free you must login to your Vimeo account, hit the "Rent $4.99 - 48 hour streaming period" and before entering any payment info, use and apply the Promo Code: SMITHSONIAN which will give you free streaming of this film for 48 hours. I've used this Promo Code twice and I can assure you it is free once you enter the word SMITHSONIAN

I have tried to use JDownloader to download this movie without success. I even tried to use the workaround suggested in the earlier thread you helped me with: I tried changing **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** to **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** When I go to the LinkGrabber tab and paste the Vimeo link to analyze and add links, some .js files appeared, but I wasn't able to find the one with the video.

Am I doing something wrong or is this video not available to download using JDownloader? I'm sorry if this is a foolish question to ask but I am just now starting to use this program and am learning the basics. I have the most recently updated version of JDownloader 2 and my computer runs on Windows 10 and Java SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_162 (32 bit). I use McAfee for anti-virus and firewall protection.

Please let me know if I need to submit any further info to this forum in order to solve this question. Thank you for your assistance.

Al

The workaround doesn't work with rental/paid content! Try to add your vimeo account to JDownloader and then try the original link. Most likely it doesn't work because of "rental only" status.
