JD says 6.1MB file should be expected but downloaded file is 103.5MB WAV |

JDownloader is downloading the downloadable file/highest quality. But that information is only available at actual download. So you prefer option NOT to download the highest but just the stream?

@Jiaz
I think you maybe mis-interpreted him. @emsef The filesize displayed in the linkgrabber is estimated and is only a temporary value. As long as JD is downloading the streams and not the original file this is fairly accurate but not when downloading the original file. If you want me to, I can try to detect this and display no filesize at all for original-downloadable files. Once the download is started, you can see the real filesize. -psp-

I've updated our soundcloud plugin so after the next CORE-update, files which are downloadable as original will show up with filesize "Unknown" until the download is started.
I've also checked if it is possible to calculate the filesize for those too but the bitrates vary --> I guess these really are the original files úntouched by soundcloud so there is no way to get a filesize without attempting to start the download. Update:
I've added an additional setting which allows you to e.g. prefer stream download over original/official download: Wartest du auf einen angekündigten Bugfix oder ein neues Feature? Hello pspzockerscene,
I beg you to please change the soundcloud-plugin back to the old version, when it was showing (sometimes) a smaller size instead of "unknown". Or at least may be you can offer it as option in the plugin-options, so everybody can decide by himself which version is prefered. I have a lot of problems with that new version and I use that great plugin really a lot. Is there a chance? |

@lupin3: please report your issues and provide example links and logs, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs
It doesn't make sense in reverting changes if there are no reports or known issues.

Thank you for answering.
The issue is not that the plugin doesn't work, but it became very unconfortable (at least for me) to use: In the old version (till June '21) the size shown in the linkgrabber was corresponding to the length of the track. So it was possible, for example to separate songs from dj-sets. Or to see if it's a long or a short track. If it was a .wav-track the real size became bigger than indicated in the linkgrabber. If I didn't want this bigger .wav-tracks, it was no problem to exclude them using filters (this could help EMSEF, for example). In the new version files that are not 128kbs-mp3 are shown as "unknown" size; so to separate dj-sets from songs, I have now to read all names and guess if it's a song or a dj-set (what is not always possible). Also it's impossible to see, if it's only a preview-cut or the full version. All this was possible to separate by filters before, but now I have to download them first to see the size (and the length). The linkgrabber-filters by size now only work with files which have an indicated size (128 kbs mp3). So in the new version I have a lot of more work to separate them by reading all names of the unknown-size-tracks or to download them all for to delete all unwanted titles after. I think this is harder to resolve than the problem EMSEF had. For most users I think that it's really an advantage to see the length of the track in the file-size: for example 4MB was always like 4 minutes, 120MB like 2 hours etc. If then the size became bigger I was happy to get a better resolution than 128kbs (instead of being dissapointed, that file is bigger than shown before). Maybe EMSEF would give me right, that it's better to see the length of the track, than the real size or how it's now: nothing. The plugin was really perfect (to use) how it was before. Thank you a lot for that good times. If this didn't convince you to reverse this changement, I would be thankful, if you could tell me a way to get an old version (till may/june'21) of that plugin or of the complete JD (for to never make an update again;-). (I think you understand the problem without sending example-links, but if you still want some, please let me know.) |

I haven't ever thought of that use-case but I understand what you mean. Quote:
Here are some ideas: 1. Settings -> Plugins -> Audio quality download mode --> Stream By setting this, our plugin will download the stream version even if an official download is available. It will also always display the calculated filesize for all tracks (= behavior you had before). ...it's only problematic if you want JD to still download the highest possible quality (soundcloud download button). 2. We could set the duration as a Packagizer property so you could e.g. find long tracks via EventScripter Scripts or use the duration of a song inside filenames. 3. We could add an additional plugin setting to even display the calculated filesize whenever an official download-button is available (= behavior 100% like it was before). -psp-

@pspzockerscene: I'm voting for option 3

Although I think it is an edge-case I did go with option 3 as it is also the most user-friendly one.
After the next update, just enable the new soundcloud plugin setting (the last one in the list). Wartest du auf einen angekündigten Bugfix oder ein neues Feature? I also was thinking, that Version3 would be my prefered one before reading your last post. So it would be still possible using the filters in the easiest way (by calculated file size corresponding to stream-length) and still get the best available quality anyway.
Thank you so much!!! |
