My JDownloader: Do I need to NAT any port?
I have successfully installed JDownloader on my Synology DS414 and I can control it by the My JDownloader website when I am inside the LAN.
BUT When I am i.e on a mobile data connection the website can't connect to my NAS. Therefore I suppose I might open some ports on my ADSL router? Last edited by Jiaz; 05.02.2015 at 10:51. |

@cr4z33
shouldn't need to open any ports. JDownloader 2.0 client connects to my.jd, your mobile app connects to my.jd. data traffic relays over this medium, vs connecting directly to one another. This avoids the requirement to add firewall/NAT rules.

JDownloader does not need any incomming port when you don't want to make use of the direct connection features. But at the moment JDownloader does not support proxy to connect to the service. Clients however does! In case you want to make use of the direct connections feature, please setup proper port forwarding and go to settings-Advanced and search for "my", then you can setup direct connection mode/ports and many other stuff.
Direct Connections reduce latency and increase bandwidth!

Sorry for being so late, but I forgot I was using an old email address for this forum...
Thank you all as everything seems to work great now without having to do something... JD is working great and I love the Android app integration! However I opened some ports found in the Advanced Settings just in case. |

What about a complete explanation of the whole Advanced Settings? Is it already available or? |

Advanced users would know, but I cant find out whether the ports I need to forward for direct mode are UDP or TCP?
Also: let's say my JD runs behind a router, which doesn't support upnp port forwarding. So I need to manually forward the local port there. But my Client (my.jdownloader...) is often situated behind a router that supports upnp. Will it still work behind manually forwarded routers? = Will the upnp open the same port I set as manual port? Dont think so. So I can only use the lan/wan option? Also, how can I easily check, whether I'm connected in direct mode? Edit: ah, just noticed this thread is marked as solved... gonna keep looking Last edited by bugnotme; 02.07.2016 at 05:38. Reason: see above |

By default MyJDownloader will try Direct connection mode if available (by default LAN only) and then fallback to server connection mode. You don't have to setup anything client side! On Server side you can change Direct Connection Mode, see
