Remote access problem with one computer
Hello,
I have JDL on two computer and they work perfectly. One has OS is Win 10, the other OS is Win 7. One PC has Java "Oracle Corporation - Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment - 1.8.0_162(32bit)". Other PC has Java "Oracle Corporation - Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment - 1.8.0_101(64bit)". The problem is that connection over MyJdownloader: with Win 10 works perfectly, but connection with Win 7 is very slow. Both computers are on the same LAN. Besides that, both have the full (optical) bandwidth and no problems with other types of download or upload (e.g. torrent). The same behavior is also from Jdwonloader application for Android. What can be a problem? Thank you in advance! |

Connected via LAN/WLAN?
Same network? What/same browser? Can you check both browser, if MyJDownloader is using a direct connection or relay server? there is a connection icon at the bottom, you click on it and thenbrowser will try to establish a direct connection.

The browser is Firefox, but I 'l try Chrome too. I don't understand this part: "is using a direct connection or relay server"? I try direct connection and after that it started doing normally (also from Android app, Chrome too)! So, I must wait until can reproduce this behavior again (if any). |

Just to understand you correct, the problem is that remote control via Browser(MyJDownloader) is slow when you're connected to the JDownloader instance running on Windows 7? Or is it slow when you try to use MyJDownloader in Browser ON Windows 7?

JDL client on Win 7 works fine. But remote access to that client was very slow, no matter is it accessed from the local browser or from remote PC, Android mobile or Android JDL app.
The problem was lasting for a long time, but I ignored it. Until today: I clicked in the browser (MyJDL) and followed your advice: "there is a connection icon at the bottom, you click on it and then browser will try to establish a direct connection.". After this it works great! |

@voja21: Thanks for the feedback! It should also work *okay* without an established direct connection.
Where are you from? What is your ping times to api.jdownloader.org ?

@Jiaz: This morning I tried again from the browser (Firefox) and I must wait some time (30-60 s), but after that response to all actions (adding links, seeing a progress) was reasonably quick.
I tried another browser (Chrome) and it wait the same time, but after that it was OK. Then I closed browser and restarted JDL. After about a minute I got a message "Connection refused". After that it continued connecting almost indefinitely... and connected after few minutes. All of is with JDL client on Win 7. Win 10 works great (connection after maximum ten seconds). And what is strange, both of them are side by side, connected to the same Gb switch?! Here is the response from both computers, identical RT=42ms Code:
Pinging api.jdownloader.org [88.99.115.46] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 88.99.115.46: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=57 Reply from 88.99.115.46: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=57 Reply from 88.99.115.46: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=57 Reply from 88.99.115.46: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=57 |

Anything special on the Win7 machine? Firewall/AV?

On both computers the Windows Firewall is turned on, AV is Kaspersky.
I 'll try to disable FW on Win 7 and see is this better. I remember that JDL asked Windows to open some ports and I allowed that. However, in Windows Firewall on both computers, I couldn't identify rules (neither inbound nor outbound) which are reserved for JDL. |

Does this even happen when you try to use MyJDownloader in browser on that Win7 machine?
Can you reproduce it? If yes, we could take a look via teamviewer if you want. Just contact me via support@jdownloader.org

I tried MyJDownloader on that Win 7 machine and it works fast. I tried Win 10 and Android app and it works fast, too! I can't understand when it starts working slow?!
I 'll try in following days to test reproduce all these behavior. Thank you for your efforts to help me. |

You may thank me once we've found the cause

Maybe I have found a source of the problem.
I installed a JDL on another Win 7 computer and it works perfectly. And then I have noticed a difference in the instalations. All working installations (Win 7 and 10) have correctly set Windows firewall rules. Non-working installation is much older and it has JDownloader.jar instead of JDownloader2.exe. I don't know how to configure firewall if program is not executable of type exe? Is that missing rule is making a problem? |

@voja21: Yes, that may be the cause if windows firewall blocks incomming connections by default.
For those JDownloader.jar, you should find java.exe in list of applications. I recommend to just reinstall JDownloader, see https://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2 and copy over your existing/old cfg folder completely, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...-configuration
