Unable to Update (09/2014)
I am unable to update JD2 any more. It started about 6 weeks ago and I have been reading all the threads on this issue, going back to 2012, and none of the alleged fixes has made any difference. I have worked on AV/Firewall/Java/disk space/tmp folders etc. etc. on and on. Nothing makes a difference. I have now done a complete uninstall of jdownloader and java, still the same issue.
I have no idea what else to try. It looks like JD2 is trying to install from a file that has not been downloaded or has only partially been downloaded (<99.99%) from the server. I'm wishing the update files could be downloaded separate from the main program so that I could test that. I am running XP SP3 (32-bit) and keep getting the same error message: Code:
org.jdownloader.update.SelfUpdateException: Selftest has been terminated unexpectedly at org.jdownloader.update.SelfUpdateClient.finishSelfUpdate(SelfUpdateClient.java:235) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager.runFinishSelfUpdate(UpdateManager.java:1039) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager$6.run(UpdateManager.java:899) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager.installPendingUpdates(UpdateManager.java:923) at org.jdownloader.updatev2.UpdateController.installUpdates(UpdateController.java:511) at org.jdownloader.updatev2.UpdateController.onResults(UpdateController.java:378) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager$15.onResults(UpdateManager.java:1669) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager.runUpdateLoop(UpdateManager.java:1161) at org.jdownloader.update.PendingUpdate.run(PendingUpdate.java:20) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager$17.run(UpdateManager.java:1858) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Last edited by gandalf_grey91; 20.09.2014 at 19:12. |

Same problem for me. I completely reinstalled JD2 2 days ago but today I have the same problem again. The error message is the same as gandalf_grey91 except the runUpdateLoop.
Code:
org.jdownloader.update.SelfUpdateException: Selftest has been terminated unexpectedly at org.jdownloader.update.SelfUpdateClient.finishSelfUpdate(SelfUpdateClient.java:235) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager.runFinishSelfUpdate(UpdateManager.java:1039) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager$6.run(UpdateManager.java:899) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager.installPendingUpdates(UpdateManager.java:923) at org.jdownloader.updatev2.UpdateController.installUpdates(UpdateController.java:511) at org.jdownloader.updatev2.UpdateController.onResults(UpdateController.java:378) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager$15.onResults(UpdateManager.java:1669) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager.runUpdateLoop(UpdateManager.java:1471) at org.jdownloader.update.PendingUpdate.run(PendingUpdate.java:20) at org.jdownloader.update.UpdateManager$17.run(UpdateManager.java:1858) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) |

Yeah, my bad, I read it wrong. Thankfully I worked it out. Had to send files split between 2 emails, I hope that wasn't a problem. Looking forward to the fix. Many Thanks for the help.

This issue still exist.
Still don't find a way to correct that problem and we must every time there is update to delete the file "core.jar" from the program folder so it can complete the update procedure. This is not a permanent solution of the problem. |

@fits79
update issue, if it happens again email them in. no need to post to our forum about the issue. If you want it resolved once and for all we need logs and maybe teamviewer session (done via coalado or jiaz). filename cleanup has been covered on the forum a few times here is one of my threads/answers on the subject. http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=55356
