Cool NAS Support

Hi,

it would be great running JD on my Synology Cubestation CS-407. I am using JamVM as Virtual Machine. Perhaps without any gui, controling it by the webif plugin. Currently I'm getting errors if I try to start JD.

BTW:my best approach was
Code:
jamvm -Djava.awt.headless=true -Djava.runtime.name=1.5.1 -Xmx512m -jar JDownloader.jar

Is there any ETA on this awesome feature? Or a SVN log where I can follow the progress?

I'm really looking forward to this!

If a full blown JRE (java) 1.6 can run on that platform, jD should be able to run on it as well.

It isn't scheduled as it's still in the planning phase. See post #2.

Hi guys, I'm willing to get this working also. Currently I'm mounting my NFS shares on a laptop where I run JDownloader. However, the BEST solution would be starting JDownloader in a GUI-less / daemon mode and have a web interface to control it. I'd like to know the details/planning to implement that feature. I'm a Java developer and could ask some other folks to join me in this effort.

My 1st concern is... Can we run JDownloader using jamVM? I'm asking this because we have jamVM available in ipkg and then available for Synology NAS DSM (Disk Station Manager). If we have a way to proof it, then I would like to take the lead on this implementation...

Let me know what you think guys...

Best, gpborges.

Please, e-mail a request to join the dev team to support@jdownloader.org.

Also read "Getting started as a JD-Developer".

Hi, I'm talking already with Daniel Wihelm. I completed the Getting started as a JD-Developer already and have it running on my local dev env (Eclipse 3.6)

Thx!

What news are you expecting?

You can run jD on your NAS if you can run Sun's JRE 1.5 or 1.6 on it.
