The MyJDownloader browser extension was somehow removed from my Chrome browser. As a result JDownloader no longer opens a tab for solving captchas. Reinstalling the extension would be helpful, but unfortunately the MyJDownloader browser extension is no longer available in the Chrome Web Store.

Does anybody have an idea how to reinstall the extension in Chrome?

Thank you very much, Jiaz! The grayed-out and disabled download button in the Chrome webstore immediately became blue and enabled. My JDownloader is up and running again!
