Default [Help] Downloading from a site that requires login

Is there a how-to or a guide for this? There's a website that I paid to have access to, some learning materials. The page doesn't work unless you're logged in, so if I add the page's link to JDownloader it can't find the videos and PDFs on the page. I have to manually add the link for every download, but this isn't possible for the videos embedded in the page.

I tried adding my details to "basic authentication" in the settings, but that didn't work, or I didn't do it properly.

Thanks!

Either you can provide username/password and example links to support@jdownloader.org and we can check possible JDownloader support. Or you can manually create so called Linkcrawler Rules and *teach* JDownloader how to download those links/files. Basically it comes down to create a rule that contains the cookies, that you have to extract from developer tools in browser.
If you want we can try to help with that, just send us details to support@jdownloader.org

Hi, thanks a lot for the reply. Is there a guide explaining how I can use Linkcrawler rules to do this? I'd prefer to do it myself rather than share my user name and password - just because I feel like its ethical for me to download what I paid for but not to share access to what I paid for. Its not a huge or well known website, its just one of those "internet entrepreneurs" who set up online courses and sell them.

You can use board search for linkcrawler rule
You can either try yourself or we can help (but need details) or you can wait for updated MyJDownloader browser extension that is able to also forward cookies/intercept downloads from browser.

To download from any paid website that requires login and password for each file that you have to download :

1/ Settings > Basic Authentication > + Add
2/ Server type **External links are only visible to Support Staff** 3/ Host/URL Copy paste here the main website's link or get one of the files to download main address if it's hosted on a different server (it's often the case)
4/ Enter your username and password.

That's all. Now when you drag and drop manually, or Ctrl+A to select a whole webpage then Ctrl+C to copy all the files, JDownloader will find the links and download them using your paid identification log and pass.

Thanks for your post, I'll just explain why this might wont work for you and others. Most sites these days do not use basic authentication for login purposes these days, they tend to utilise html form. This submits via post/get request and sends user/pass + other parameters into the website.
