This is a picture of 2560x1536px 5.65 MB

If i will set "Official download only" option inside plugin - the response would be "Skipped - Account is missing"
If it would be option with preview - it would be only a preview of 1024 x 615 of 204 and something Kb.

Should i put this link (or gallery with this image) into that other console app i mentioned earlier, it would download original size of image, not preview (and original is also png in case of this specific image).

P.S. One more thing - that console app also tries to download as fast as possible, yet it has automatically incrementing delay as a response for "API responded with 429 Too Many Requests".

No, this behavior is with already added account with cookies.

There is a possibility to use login and password parameters, but it works even without them.

Yes.

I had specifically checked it again on the example link i had provided in this thread, and it had downloaded original 5 mb png image in full res without me entering login/password. I'm pretty sure this app doesn't remember accounts.

@ecclessia: I've checked the tool. It uses API mode with it's own api key and heavily suffers from that because api/tools are heavily rate limited, see
github.com/mikf/gallery-dl/blob/master/docs/configuration.rst#extractordeviantartclient-id--client-secret
That's why the tool recommend to register own application/tool and use that api key instead to avoid getting limited that often.
And that's the main reason we currently try to avoid the API.
We will look into it, maybe it's still possible to fetch the original without API. Also maybe we will add API support in future but I can't tell that for sure at the moment.

I had specifically removed and readded my da account, yet it still exists. Also, 403 error if trying to access site during download.

Here's logs:

09.12.22 09.51.59 <--> 09.12.22 10.03.44 jdlog://0961311370661/

1. Started JD2.
2. Added gallery to parsing/
3. After parsing started download of gallery.

Also, files, that are supposed to be png's are added as jpg.

Only several files had been downloaded, and only files, already accessible through download button as png were png's.

Though, again, maybe i just did not know, how to check, if specific plugin was included in update.

@ecclessia: Earth-Oasis-845971895 works fine here, found the 5MB png file for me.
Setting must be *Prefer official download, download preview as fallback* as this file is not the official (we can't tell) but is the best/same as your mentioned tool can find for this link.

extension detection. on actual download the extension will be corrected at the moment

Ah, that must be it. It was set on "official only".

The plugin doesn't seem to work anymore. All galleries I tried return a "plugin outdated".

Looking at a bunch of "Try restarting" showed up a failure pattern: size of 919 bytes is a CloudFront 403. I don't have a debug log to figure out the timings or volume that caused it, but a 5 minute cooldown ought to be enough to get past it.

Please nevertheless provide a log or a way to reproduce this issue.
