Default Download.am Seems familiar ?

Hi,
Downloading from Cloudzer I saw that : **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**. It's reminding me something !
Is this a fork developement ? their forum is quite similar as here.

seems they have cloned JD2 GUI and terms we use within JDownloader. From what I saw on there homepage, I haven't downloaded/installed myself. Though from the jobs application && forum && last but not least GIT repository, it looks like it's python based project. Very few supported sites. It would be nice if they didn't copy/clone our GUI.

The cloned our User Interface. I think that Uploaded/cloudzer is behind this project.

We are not connected to this in any way.

If I were you, I would be very careful with this project. It seems that there is a lot of communication with the download.am Server. I do not know how good their encryption is (or if there is any).

If you find anything cool at download.am which is not available in JDownloader yet - say a word and we will implement it as far as possible.

BTW: Isn't the JD lockalike protected by laws?

It looks exactly as JD and if they did something wrong to their users, it will for sure fall back to JD ...

I don't think it'll fall back on JD.
They are making a huge advertising action to push their programm.
They spent a lot of money on that for sure.
It seems like their target is definitly to gain users which we would lose then.
Anyways, I think people will be sceptic because of their promotion.
By the way, they even cloned our forum structure and description:

They can try to copy me :D
Kidding.
Their next step will be to make many new host plugins.

Maybe JD's team could copy their great commercial sense in return...

@hat_ne_frage
Why should I?
Also, read their conditions, 100€ is usually not enough for what they want...and they know it

Supposedly their download manager allows to reach 140kb/s instead of the 50kb/s limit with Free Uploaded (they claim this is thanks to a parthnership with Uploaded that they can provide this).
I don't suppose you can implement that, can you?
Unfortunately I couldn't test this myself to ensure it works since trying to download their tool invariably has the download progression bar freeze at 70% forever so the download never completes.
Since I've recently tried to download it under 3 different browsers, each on 2 distinct computers (a laptop and a desktop), it seems to me this issue is not from my side so nobody can download their tool anymore...
Doesn't seem to bother them much though, as the problem remains...

Weird tactics to "gain users" if that's indeed their target as pspzockerscene said!

Hi
Actually the first thing I did was to check the claim with the 140 KB/s downloadspeed and it didn't even work via download.am

Well, no big surprise there... The whole thing feels dubious at best (and rotten more-like) so it doesn't take a genius to recognize the stench of blatant amateurism mixed with commercial greed&hypocrisy. Oh, just the usual then I suppose.

But blessed be the gods, there are still a few competent and cool guys here and there (like the JD dev staff!)

Thanks
Well I'm actually surprised that they seem to have made this big contract with ul and then...nothing!
Even in their support forum, people only get help sometimes - most times they just don't get an answer.
